Thursday, April 18: Mock car crash demonstration planned at Keystone Oaks High School
On Thursday, April 18, 2024, Seton La-Salle High School students will visit Keystone Oaks to participate in a presentation and mock car crash demonstration, hosted by Keystone Oaks High School’s National Honor Society.

Beginning at 9 a.m., students will participate in a presentation regarding safe driving in the high school auditorium. Following this, around 10 a.m, students from both high schools will observe the mock car crash demonstration outside of Keystone Oaks High School.

Emergency responders from a number of local agencies, including police and fire departments, EMS, Lifelight and the Allegheny County Medical Examiner, will be on campus for the full crash and response simulation. If you see or hear of emergency personnel on campus, they are here for this event and not because of an emergency situation on campus. Setup for this event is anticipated to begin around 9:30 a.m.

Counseling Office

Welcome to the Keystone Oaks High School Counseling Department webpage! Here you will find information for both parents and students. It is our hope that this information will help our students be successful at Keystone Oaks and have a prosperous future upon graduation.

The general objectives of the Counseling Department are as follows:
  1. To provide maximum individual student help through counseling
  2. To provide teachers, administrators, and other outside agencies with relevant student information as an aid in serving individual student needs
  3. To assist teachers and administrators to meet student needs by advising them and by providing alternatives for solving student problems; and
  4. To work with families in the Keystone Oaks community to assure accurate placement and adequate course selection. Also to counsel these families to meet current student needs and provide appropriate alternatives for post high school planning.
The counseling department at Keystone Oaks serves a valuable purpose in working individually and in groups with students. The counseling department helps students plan for the future and solve current academic, social, and personal problems as these problems relate to the student’s success in school. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities for counseling. Unless extenuating circumstances prevail, students are not to miss class/study hall to see their counselor unless the teacher has given permission to do so. This permission should be in the form of a teacher-signed pass to report to the counseling office.
