Keystone Oaks families may now purchase the Chromebook Protection Plan for their child’s device for the 2023-2024 school year. Kindergarten students do not need a Chromebook Protection Plan for the 2023/2024 school year as their devices will stay at school. 

Every Keystone Oaks student in grades 1-12 will be given a Chromebook device that they keep with them for the entire school year to use during the school day. If you choose to not purchase the Chromebook Protection Plan, as described below, your child(ren) will not be allowed to take the Chromebook home. Please keep in mind that teachers may assign homework that needs to be completed using technology, so you want to be sure your child has access to such technology at home if you do not purchase the Chromebook Protection Plan. 

In addition to being able to take the device home, the protection plan also includes the following benefits: 

• Everyone must log on to the website to either purchase the plan or waive the option to purchase protection. If you do not select one of those two options, your child will not receive their Chromebook.
  
  

• Kindergarten students do not need a Chromebook Protection Plan for the 2023-2024 school year as their devices will stay at school.
  
  

• Insurance is $20 per device and covers the following:

  • Three accidental incidents

  • Lost or stolen devices - $100 replacement fee
    
    

• If you do not purchase insurance:

  • Lost or stolen devices - $400 replacement fee

  • Damage to device - cost of repair

• Insurance does not cover:

  • Damage that is done intentionally or is a result of gross negligence. Please see photos below for examples.
    
    

• The protection plan will no longer cover replacement styluses for any cause (loss, damage, failure)
  
  

• The district reserves the right to discontinue participation in the insurance program for students with unusually high numbers of claims.

• Click “Enroll my Device.” 

• Please make sure to choose the 2023-2024 year. Your child's Student ID can be found in PowerSchool.

• Even if you do not wish to purchase the protection plan, you must click the link and enroll your device and then click the box that you Elect not to participate.

• The windows you will see look like the screenshot below, you must select “purchase damage waiver” to get to the next screen where you can decline if you so choose.
