Middle School Program of Studies

As we begin to prepare for the 2021-2022 school year, please find information below regarding Middle School course offerings and the scheduling process. The following link can be used to view a presentation that was created for parents to have a better understanding of the scheduling process and courses at each grade level:
https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1ZqwdwyJIobFrKCmV8iqAg_FqoLcRhWSTPgxa9wiF5Xo/present

The presentation will start when you open the link and you will need to click to advance each slide. Some slides do have narration that will play upon advancing the slides and others are just for you to read through on your own. Use the links on the grade level and elective slides to see these separate presentations. I suggest viewing this presentation with your child so each of you understands the courses offered next year. If you have difficulty with the presentation or any of the audio/video clips, please use your child’s Keystone Oaks account. There should not be any problems when using a district account.

As we being to prepare for the next school year, teachers have been making suggested recommendations for courses students should take. As we have done over the past few years, students and parents may decide to go against the recommendation and accelerate to the next level course. If you are thinking that your child is ready for this challenge, please reach out to your child’s current teacher to indicate your choice. The teacher will refer this to Ms. Harvilla ([email protected]) and she will provide a waiver form for you to complete. Once it is completed please email the form to [email protected], so that a meeting can be arranged to discuss the acceleration. In addition to the waiver form, it is important to mention that any form of acceleration will require summer work to be completed. This summer work will be computer-based and will include virtual meetings with a teacher. More details of this summer work will be provided as we get closer to the end of the school year.

Thank you,
