Twelve Keystone Oaks Middle & High School students were selected to participate in the PMEA District Chorus, PMEA District 1 West Band, and PMEA District 1 West Junior High Band festivals.
Senior bass vocalist Gabe Spinello and junior alto vocalist Nadia Dojcak participated in the PMEA District 1 Chorus Festival at Canon-McMillan High School. Featuring more than 180 students from school districts throughout southwestern PA, the choir was under the direction of Dr. Joy Elizabeth Meade, Director of Choral Activities and Assistant Professor of Music from Messiah University. Based on their successful auditions at district chorus, both Gabe and Nadia earned the opportunity to perform in the PMEA Region 1 Chorus Festival which will be held at at Mars High School in March.
Senior horn player Caleb Anderson, sophomore bassoon player Lucy Brooke, junior clarinet player Bianka Guerra Naranjo, and senior clarinet player Alison Leung performed as part of the PMEA District 1 West Band Festival at Peters Township High School. Keystone Oaks was one of 36 participating high schools in this year's festival. The band was under the direction of Dr. Scott Jones, Associate Director of Bands at Ohio State University. Additionally, based on his successful audition, Caleb earned a chair in the PMEA Region 1 Band festival to be held in February at Deer Lakes High School!
Freshman trumpet player Zach Dalrymple, freshman horn player Andreh De La Torre, freshman flutist Lillian Gallego, 8th grade flutist Geneva Deimel, 8th grade trombone player Valeria Hernandez Pere, and 8th grade clarinet player Sophia Mae Winchel participated in the PMEA District 1 West Junior High Band Festival at South Park High School! The concert was under the direction of Dr. Christopher Marra from Seton Hill University.
