Keystone Oaks Superintendent Welcomes Middle School Students, Families to the 2017-18 School Year

Dear Parents/Guardians,

It is my pleasure to welcome your sons and daughters back to a new school year. The middle school experience is essentially designed to help young people have a successful transition from childhood to adolescence. During this time, students are developing at difference rates intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. Their unique individual experiences often require individual attention and responses.

At the beginning of my administrative career, I was an assistant principal of a middle school. I remember the excitement that the middle school students had and the energy those students brought to the school. I also remember the challenges that students had, socially and emotionally, and the need for the faculty and staff to address those needs and help those students in the times of challenges.

It is our goal to provide the most engaging educational programs for our students. The tools that support the learning process are constantly changing. The advancement of various forms of technology has contributed to the explosion of knowledge and information for students that is right at their fingertips. Our middle school teachers are focused on providing engaging, meaningful experiences while using technology to deliver a robust curriculum.

During my five years as a middle school assistant principal, I came to realize the importance of middle school students being engaged in school life through academics, the arts, athletics, and in various curricular and co-curricular activities. I encourage parents to become involved in the middle school and to support the various programs and events that take place throughout the year. Our schools are places where students and adults (faculty, staff, parents, and community members) need to come together to learn together and be good role models for our students. I encourage you to be as involved as you can and as your other commitments will allow. Your involvement will make a difference in your child, your family, and your school.

I look forward to an excellent year, one that provides your child with an excellent education. My best wishes for a successful school year that will provide the best opportunities for your child to grow intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically.

Together, we are building a foundation of excellence.

Sincerely,

William P. Stropkaj, Ed.D
Superintendent
