The Keystone Oaks Mentoring Program provides students with additional support to help them do their very best at school and successfully make the transition from the middle school to the high school. Mentoring is an effective strategy to help children make positive choices, stay on track in school and avoid negative behaviors.
At the end of 8th grade, students will be assigned a mentor from the junior class. The mentors are chosen through a specific selection process and are required to meet the GPA criteria, supply three teacher recommendations and be a member of at least one extracurricular activity.
Mentors will meet with the upcoming freshman class during the school day before the end of the academic year in order to participate in a variety of positive activities. These activities will take place on school grounds during the school year. The mentor and mentee are encouraged to exchange phone numbers so they can stay in contact throughout the summer and up-coming school year.
Should you have any questions about the Mentoring Program, please contact one of the committee members, listed on the right hand side of this page.
