Updated Masking Guidance: Masks Optional February 28
On Friday, February 25, 2022, the CDC updated its guidance on masking. The new guidance is based on a three-tier system that takes into account hospitalizations, the strain on local health care systems, and the number of new cases of COVID. Using this new guidance, masking is now optional in counties that meet the criteria for the Medium or Low tiers.

As of yesterday, Friday, February 25, 2022, Allegheny County is currently at the Low Level. Therefore, effective Monday, February 28, 2022, masking will no longer be required for Keystone Oaks students, staff and visitors while in the school buildings.

Also effective immediately, the CDC is no longer requiring masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems.
Anyone who is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 should stay home and seek testing. Students who are exhibiting symptoms while at school will be required to wear a mask until they can be picked up from school.

Quarantine guidelines for individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 remain unchanged at this time. Any student or employee who tests positive for COVID-19 and returns to school or work on Day 6 following their isolation must wear a mask around others through Day 10. This also includes student athletes who are engaged in active play during practice and/or games. Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 should continue to email Mrs. Lochie ([email protected]) and Mrs. Welch ([email protected]).
