This year’s kindergarten class will be participating in Keystone Oaks' new Kick Off to Kindergarten program that will give students the opportunity to adjust to the school day and will give teachers the opportunity to learn more about this year’s kindergarten students and to create classroom rosters for the 2024-2025 school year.
Please note the following:
All kindergarten students will attend shortened school days on the following days:
On August 22, August 23 and August 26, kindergarten students will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Students will eat lunch at school before being dismissed for the day. Transportation will be available for kindergarten students on these days.
Kindergarten Orientation will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Parents/guardians should attend orientation with their child at the building where their child will be attending school. Orientation is expected to last one hour and students will return home with their parents/guardians following orientation.
Kindergarten students will attend their first full day of school on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. For arrival and dismissal times, please visit the webpage for your child’s school:
The first three days of the Kick Off to Kindergarten program (August 22, August 23 and August 26), will give kindergarten teachers in your child’s building the opportunity to:
Get to know your child and their needs.
Practice school routines with your child.
Provide various small group lessons and activities that focus on important citizenship skills, including working and playing together, self-control, and following directions.
Create an environment where teachers can assess students to tailor instruction accordingly.
Create a permanent classroom roster. Families will receive their child’s kindergarten teacher assignment prior to the first full day of school on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
Research indicates that children who acquire these essential skills are more likely to build positive relationships and achieve better academic performance. By introducing students to kindergarten through this program, students will be able to transition more smoothly to the new year, familiarize themselves with the school surroundings, understand expectations, and forge new friendships.
If you have any questions about the Kick off to Kindergarten program, please contact the principal at the building where your child will attend school:
