More than a few Eagles
Keystone Oaks has not had a hockey team for a few years now, but this past year have entered a co-op team out of Bishop Canevin High School, including Our Lady of the Sacred Heart and Seton LaSalle, they are currently 2-9-1.

Playing on a team with kids you don’t know is nothing new for many players on the team, as quite a few have been playing hockey all throughout their lives on various teams. The players become used to each other quickly.

“In the beginning it was weird playing with kids from another school, especially because it wasn’t our school, but as the year grows on you begin to build a bond with each other and it’s almost like a family after a couple of months,” said assistant captain Evan Serakowski when asked about playing with new teammates.

Most of these hockey players have been playing since they could walk, or have been surrounded by the sport their whole lives. Many have family that introduced them to the sport or simply were Penguins fans as children.

“I got into the sport because my uncle used to teach me and quiz me about different Penguins players, which initially sparked my interest in the sport,” said assistant captain Matt Tanczos, who is a student at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.

The team has recently fired their head coach and two of their assistant coaches, which is leaving them at a disadvantage. With the season slowly dying down, they hope to end up with a few more wins.
