Keystone Oaks football team looks to make another playoff run
Last season for the Golden Eagles football team went 9-2 and made it to the second round of playoffs. The team hopes to make another good run this season, but make it even further than last year.
The Golden Eagles had a number of seniors to help them throughout last season, but they have since graduated.

“A lot of people have stepped up to fill their roles. There are many returning starters that will lead the team. The biggest change will be at the quarterback position where a freshman will be starting. He has great potential and should be fine with the defense to lean on,” said senior TJ Harris.

Freshman Logan Shrubb agrees with Harris about counting on their teammates.
“I think our team works well together because we have eachother’s backs.”
Shrubb also stated that “the thing that helps me the most is when I make my first completion, then my nerves start to go away.”

Junior Michael Daure mainly plays running back and corner, but if you happen to be at a game, you might even see him playing many other positions.

Daure believes that “the expectations are high. After the legacy the team made last year, we expect to live up to everything they set. We had big shoes to fill.”

“I expect the team to win the conference title again, and to make playoffs,” said junior CJ Morrow.

Harris agreed with Morrow’s expectations on the season.

Coach Perry and the Golden Eagles take the field this Friday against the Deer Lakes Lancers at 7:00 PM. Also, before the game, all fall sport seniors will be recognized.
