Keystone Oaks will hold commencement for the Class of 2020 on Wednesday, July 29, 2020.
The order from the Allegheny County Health Department that is currently in place limits indoor gatherings to 25 individuals and outdoor gatherings to 50 individuals. This order does apply to school districts and we must adhere to these limits regardless of the size of the venue. Therefore, the District will be proceeding with Commencement Plan B, which is outlined below.
Graduation will be recorded by Cut 'n Run Studios and a video will be available the week of August 10, 2020.
The details for commencement are as follows:
- Commencement will be held at Dormont Memorial Stadium.
- Please arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time.
- If you are not feeling well tomorrow, we ask that you please stay home.
- Parking is available behind Dormont Memorial Stadium and handicap parking is available on Hillsdale Avenue, in front of the Stadium. Please park in the first available parking spaces and remain in your car.
- A staff member will direct you to line up and when to proceed to the field.
- Masks must be worn the entire time. We will have masks with the KO logo for students.
- Any honors cords, pins, or certificates will be distributed tomorrow.
- Students may decorate their graduation caps this year. Decorations must be in good taste and should reflect either the student’s future plans, activities while at Keystone Oaks, or a similar appropriate interest. A staff member will check each student’s cap prior to them receiving a diploma.
- Each student will proceed across the field onto the stage where he/she will receive their diploma as their name and short biography is read by a staff member. A photographer will take a picture of the student as they receive their diploma.
- Students may bring up to ten guests from. Guests will be able to watch from the sideline area on the field at Dormont Stadium.
- A separate area will be set up for additional pictures and for students to complete their Senior Stone. Masks may be removed in the separate area for pictures only; however, we ask that you take pictures, complete the stone, and exit the stadium as quickly as possible. Congregating will not be permitted.
