Congratulations to the Keystone Oaks High School students Ben Burke, Caleb Anderson, and Nadia Dojcak for being selected to participate in the PMEA District 1 Band, Jazz Band, Orchestra and Chorus festivals after auditioning in recent weeks.
Senior trombone player Ben Burke and junior French horn player Caleb Anderson participated in the honors band festival at North Hills Middle School, under the direction of Dr. Russel C. Mikkelson, Director of University Bands and Professor of Music at The Ohio State University. Through their successful audition and participation, Ben and Caleb were selected to perform in the PMEA District 1 West Band Festival to be held at Trinity High School in February.
Caleb and Ben were also selected to participate in the PMEA District 1 Orchestra Festival to be held in January at Heinz Hall.
This week, following a successful audition at Seton Hill University, Ben was also selected to participate in the PMEA District 1 Jazz Band Festival, which will be held at Seton Hill in February.
Following an audition at Penn Trafford High School, sophomore Nadia Dojcak was selected to participate in the PMEA District 1 Chorus Festival, which will be held at Thomas Jefferson High School in January.
Everyone in the Keystone Oaks community is invited to see our talented students perform in the upcoming orchestra, band and jazz band concerts:
- PMEA District 1 Orchestra Concert - Saturday, January 21 at 5:00pm at Heinz Hall.
- PMEA District 1 Band Concert - Saturday, February 11 at Trinity High School in Washington, PA.
- PMEA District 1 Honors Jazz Band Concert - Saturday, February 18 at Seton Hill University (Time TBA)
Tickets are $5 at the door.
