The Effects of Modern Technology

Technology has evolved over the past decades and is showing some negative and positive aspects.

Technology dates back to around 2 million years ago when we only had stone tools to work with. Now our country has grown and developed with having new devices that make doing things much easier.

These advancements have proven to have many benefits. The internet was created in 1983 and has been very useful ever since.

People can find things easier with technology. Not that this is always a good thing, but students can get help from the internet, and can comprehend what they are learning better.

We can be in the know of what other countries are going through. People can learn about other cultures through the internet too. There are many possibilities on the internet.

Although advancements in technology has brought many good things to this country, there are a lot of things within technology that leave negative effects. One of them is very prominent, getting these devices can cost a lot of money. Some devices can be around $2,000.00, which isn’t the most expensive device.

Another negative effect includes how it can be destructive to a person’s thoughts. As many of us teenagers grow up, we grew up with these devices coming out. The internet was created and so was social media and now when we post we start to care about what others think of us and we care if people judge us. Social media negatively impacts our thoughts.

Many health problems root from the use of technology. One aspect is that the sleeping schedule is damaged as we stay on our phones all night to watch videos or play games. Another aspect is that you can get a headache from looking at it for too long. The most immense aspect is that you could get cancer. The radiation from a phone can give the user cancer.

Another negative effect includes that there is a lack of privacy when you have technological devices. On social media, there are options to have people know your location, which isn’t safe when a stranger adds you. You can find people’s addresses and phone numbers on the internet, which I believe is very invasive.

Technology is the thing that helped our country evolve into what it is now. Even though there are key reasons why technology is good and important, there are negative aspects that people should look out for.
