Pep Club Puts a Little More “Pep” in KO’s Step

On Friday, October 4th, the annual fall pep rally was held in the gym, organized by the Pep Club, to recognize this year’s fall sports and to get everyone pumped up for the upcoming game that same night.

This year the pep rally contained more fun activities than ever, including all of the students, and even some teachers, in all of the fun. The main goal of this year's pep rally was to make all of the students feel like they were apart of it, even if they didn’t play sports.

“One of my main goals was to make every student who is part of our student body feel that they had a role and a chance to enjoy an event that promotes KO Pride,” said Club Sponsor Ms. Kelly Connolly.

This year, Connolly is joined by Ms. Beth Smith, who was also a big part of making the pep rally better than prior years. They spent hours with the club members making posters, writing scripts, and planning games.

They kept some of the same aspects from the pep rallies years prior and added some more games and activities to make it the best one yet. The club worked hard together to make it fun for all of the students there. Seniors Sarah Gample and Gabby Harris were the main speakers throughout it and gave an enjoyable performance.

“I enjoyed being apart of such a great pep rally with all of the other students. There was a lot of work put into this, and I’m very happy with the way it turned out. I love being able to make it fun for everyone,” said Sarah Gample.

The students also enjoyed the pep rally. They participated in many games to win prizes and watched performances from the cheer team, dance team, and the band.

“I enjoyed the pep rally a lot, it makes it fun for everyone and makes me excited for the games. It’s a great environment and was a great way to end the day,” said junior Tess Everett.

All of their hard work paid off, giving everyone in the gym that day a great experience, judging from the noise of the crowd.
