PA Department of Education releases new Future Ready Index

The Future Ready Index, launched by the Pennsylvania Department of Education in the fall of 2018, is the Commonwealth’s new tool to help communities find comprehensive information and data on school and student success.

This tool was developed after three years of meetings with educators, parents, advocates, policymakers, and business leaders across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Future Ready Index goes above and beyond providing details on standardized test scores and features a collection of indicators that illustrate academic proficiency, on-track progress, and college and career readiness. In addition, the new Future Ready Index dashboard illustrates growth and achievement by student groups, including economically disadvantaged students, English Learners, students receiving special education services, just to name a few.

The goal of the Future Ready Index is to paint a clearer picture of how well schools in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are preparing students for post high school success.
