Letter from Keystone Oaks Superintendent Regarding Incident Involving Myrtle Elementary Students
Dear Parent/Guardian,

This morning, Thursday, October 5, 2017, two students at Myrtle Elementary School reported being approached by strangers on their way to school. These were two separate incidents.

The incidents were immediately reported to Keystone Oaks’ School Resource Officer and the Castle Shannon Police Department, which is handling the investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Castle Shannon Police Department at 412-885-9300.

The safety of our students is the District’s number one priority and we will continue to work with the Castle Shannon Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies, to provide a safe environment for your child both during the school day and as they arrive to and depart from the school buildings.

Sincerely,

William P. Stropkaj
Superintendent, Keystone Oaks School District
