Keystone Oaks senior recognized by National Merit Scholarship Program
Keystone Oaks senior Conor Hadricky has been named a commended student by the National Merit Scholarship Program. He is one of nearly 34,000 high scorers to receive a Letter of Commendation in recognition of his outstanding academic promise based on his performance on the PSAT exam and plans to attend college after high school.
Throughout high school, Conor has been active in the Math and Robotics Clubs and is a member of the National Honor Society. He also participated on the student Technology Committee that provided input on how the District can implement technology in the classroom. Conor has volunteered with Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh, an organization that rebuilds and repairs homes for seniors, veterans, people with physical disabilities, and people in need, with the goal of stabilizing and revitalizing our regions neighborhoods.
The National Merit program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test – a test which serves as an initial screening of approximately 1.5 million juniors in 22,000 high schools each year – and by meeting published program entry/participation requirements.
