Two Seniors Take First Place in Regional Skills USA Competition
Keystone Oaks seniors Doug Sabo and Shane Holden were part of a team that took first place at the regional Skills USA competition and are set to compete at the state level in April.

Doug and Shane attend Parkway West Career & Technical Center. They were part of a four-member team that included a carpenter, electrician, plumber and mason. The Skills USA competition challenged the team to build two mock walls that include certain elements and are up to code. The team is given four hours to complete the project and is judged on how well the wall is constructed, the tools that are used and if it meets applicable building codes. Doug was the plumber on the team and Shane was the electrician.

This is the third year that they participated in the competition and the first year they are advancing to the state level.
