Keystone Oaks Agrees to One Year Extension of Teachers Contract
The Keystone Oaks School District and the Keystone Oaks Education Association (KOEA) have reached an agreement on a one year extension to the contract that expired on June 30, 2016. The agreement was approved by KOEA and the Board of School Directors in meetings that took place on April 11, 2017.

The one year agreement is retroactive to July 1, 2016 and expires on June 30, 2017.

Details of the approved contract include:
  • KOEA employees will move up one step on the salary scale for the 2016-17 school year and will receive retroactive pay.
  • KOEA employees will now participate in an EPO healthcare plan, which is a lower cost for the district. Healthcare contributions for individuals will continue to be $32 per pay, with contributions for other plans increasing to $54 per pay.
  • A number of managerial items have been agreed to and will go in to effect once a successor agreement is reached.
“We are pleased that the district and KOEA were able to reach a short-term agreement that puts the students first and is fair for both sides,” Board President Matt Cesario said. “We look forward to working with the teachers, counselors and nurses to reach a longer term agreement that is sustainable and continues to provide a high quality education for Keystone Oaks students.”
