Keystone Oaks Announces 2016-2017 Community Swim ProgramIt is the purpose of the Keystone Oaks School District to provide for its students and residents a comprehensive program of aquatic activities. This program will include activities designed to improve the swimming ability of its participants, to create a safety conscious public, to promote participation in recreational aquatic activities, and to promote sportsmanship and competition through competitive programs.

The following information pertains to the 2016-2017 Keystone Oaks School District Recreational Swim Program. All residents of the district are invited to participate in the program of aquatic activities.

Recreational Swimming
Open Swim - The pool will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-8 PM and Sundays from NOON – 2 PM for all residents to swim.

Adult Swim - The pool will be open for adults only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-8:45 PM and Sunday from 2-2:45 PM.

Dates of Operation - The pool will be open for operation from October 2nd through May 7th. The pool will be closed on all school holidays and activities may be preempted for swim meets and other special District activities (MANY dates are listed below).

Recreational Swimming Fees
  • Family Pass (2 Adults and up to 3 children) $60.00
  • Adult Pass (18 or older) $30.00
  • Children’s Pass (17 and under) $15.00
  • Daily Admission Fee RESIDENT $2.00 (WITH ID)
  • Daily Admission Fee NON RESIDENT $4.00
  • Senior Citizen free Golden Eagle Card
Passes may be purchased at the pool during normal hours of operation. Children under 4’ tall must be accompanied by a guardian.

NO SWIMMING ON THE FOLLOWING DATES:
2016: October 10 & 31st; November 11-December 31st; OPEN SUNDAYS ON November 13,20; December 4, 11, 18th.
2017: January 1-February 24th; April 13-17th; OPEN SUNDAYS ON January 8, 15, 22, 29; February 5, 12th. 

Additional dates maybe added to accommodate additional events.

CHILDREN’S SWIM LESSONS
ONLY SESSION : April 3-12 Mon-Tues-Wednesdays (6:00-7:00)
Time - 25 minute sections
Cost: $35.00/ 6 lessons
Ages: 6 and up

Registration: Register by mail only. Applications will be available at the high school pool starting FEBRUARY 1. Registration by mail only. You may email Mrs. Torcaso at [email protected] starting February 1 to receive an application, but it must still be mailed in for registration. Number of students will be limited each session based on staffing; first come, first serve. Register for only one session. Register for any session at any time. Students will be assigned to groups based on age and ability. Parents will be called the weekend before lessons start to verify registration. Parents MAY NOT go into the water.

LOVED ONE AND ME CLASSES
SPRING: March 24-April 28 on FRIDAYS (7:00-8:00 PM)
NONE GOOD FRIDAY APRIL 14th
TIME: divided into 25 minute sessions
Cost: $25.00/ 5 sessions
Ages: UNDER 6

Registration: Register by mail only. Applications available starting February 1st for SPRING. You may email Mrs. Torcaso at [email protected] to receive an application, but it must still be mailed in for registration. This is a water acclamation class where fun activities are done in the water lead by a certified Water Safety Instructor. Registration by mail only. Applications available at school buildings and during rec swim. Limit to 15 children with parents who are willing to go into the water with them. If child is NOT potty trained--swimmer pants are required. NO DIAPERS permitted.

KOAC COMPETITIVE SWIM CLUB
The KOAC is a non-profit parent run organization affiliated with Western Pennsylvania Swimming Association. Keystone Oaks provides use of its facility for the activities of the KOAC as a service to the community. Age group competitive swimming instruction and competition is offered through the Keystone Oaks Aqua Club. Children of all ages are welcome to participate. The team normally practices 5 days per week from 5-7 PM. All fees and registrations are handled through the KOAC.

RED CROSS LIFE GUARD TRAINING
SPRING 2017 PLEASE Contact Mrs. Torcaso at the email below after
March 1st for the class information sheet. I am waiting on high school spring musical dates. NORMALLY class is run in May.

Cost: $200.00 (includes First Aid & CPR for Professional training)
Ages: 15 or older who can pass prerequisites
500 yards continuous swim, 2 minute tread water, and retrieval of object at bottom of pool

WATER AEROBICS EXERCISE CLASSES
We will offer our own water aerobics classes this year on Monday and Wednesday Nights with Joanne Dressler as the instructor. We will initially offer two sessions one from 7-8 pm and a second from 8-9pm. If there is not enough interest, then the two sessions will be combined. Class size will be limited to 25 per session. Our first session will begin on September 7 through November 7. This is a 16 session class. Other sessions will be offered throughout the school year and those dates will be announced on the web page. Registration can be done by email or the night of the first class. If you would like to pay as you go, each individual class is $7 cash as a walk in rate.

POOL RENTALS
School sponsored activities will have first priority in the use of the pool. Groups or organizations planning to offer serious programs will be given second consideration. Private individuals may also rent the pool for parties and gatherings if time is available. Lifeguards and supervisory personnel will be provided by the District for pool rentals. There are very few dates and times available.

Rental Fees: 1-30 people $55.00/hour RESIDENT
$80.00/hour NON RESIDENT
31-60 people $60.00/hour RESIDENT
$85.00/hour NON RESIDENT
A PHOTOCOPY OF ID WILL BE REQUIRED WITH COMPLETED PERMIT AND CHECKED ON RENTAL DATE.
