Keystone Oaks is Not Scott Hagy
Mr. Scott Hagy

After eighteen years with the district, Scott Hagy made the decision to leave his position as Keystone Oaks High School Principal, effective September 21st, 2015. Popular amongst students and faculty alike, Hagy takes with him the sense of stability he established over the years and the knowledge of “which disciplinary and leadership techniques work best with students”. Such knowledge Hagy attributes to experience alone, an accomplishment he hoped to secure after beginning his career at a time when the High School had “seen the arrival and departure of four Principals over the span of only two years, eliminating any sense of the order that was fundamental to the school’s success”.
While having confessed his impending nostalgia for the students, staff, and community he had once been a figurehead of, Hagy prides himself on the “quality and diversity of the programs that Keystone Oaks has to offer”, acknowledging that “everyone has great gifts: academic, athletic, or otherwise, and whatever these gifts may be, Keystone Oaks has something for everyone”.
In addition, Hagy looks forward to pursuing a part-time career in data analysis, a subject he has always found himself passionate about. He looks forward to using his talents as a data analysis consultant to assist other educational institutions in the region, hopefully while still finding some time to golf.
Most of all, Hagy will miss watching the development of his students over the four years they shared together. From nervous freshmen to mature, independent seniors to “run ins with graduated students at Giant Eagle”, Hagy was noted for his compassion and willingness to help students in any way he could. Modestly, he admits that “Keystone Oaks is not Scott Hagy; rather Keystone Oaks is defined by the students, faculty, and communities that compromise the school, all of which will continue to function without me”. Of course, many would disagree with this statement, undoubtedly ready to admit that Scott Hagy will be missed.
