Four High School Students Advance to National FBLA Competition
Four High School Students Advance to National FBLA CompetitionFour KO High School students were awarded top honors at the Pennsylvania Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference and will compete at the National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Georgia this summer. 

Vivi Besteman, Angela Altieri and Kat Kocelko finished in 4th place in the Hospitality Management event. After taking an exam that qualified them as one of the Top 10 teams in the state, they were presented with a case study in the category’s second round at the state conference. They had 20 minutes to prepare a solution and seven minutes to present it to a panel of six judges.

Michael Shanahan earned 1st place in the State in the Spreadsheet Applications competition.

High School business teacher Beth Smith advises the students. The Future Business Leaders of America Competitive Events Program is an annual event that showcases the activities and successes of various business education programs across the state and nation.

This year, 12 Keystone Oaks High School students competed at the state conference. This will be the fourth time that Keystone Oaks has participated in the National Conference; three years ago, two KO students earned First Place and Seventh Place in the “Word Processing” event.
