Until the last minute
On Friday, March 10th, the Keystone Oaks Girls basketball team lost the first round of state playoffs to North Catholic by the score of 53-38. The loss means the girls are no longer competing for a state championship.
Despite all of the hard work and passion the team put forth, the team could not conquer the challenge bestowed upon them. The girls are not disappointed that their season is over, rather they are proud for overcoming the obstacles in the regular season that brought them to that point. The fans are also in support of how well the team stay poised and composed throughout the year.
Senior and avid basketball fan Richard Magyan appreciates the team's athletic ability.
“You could tell that everyone was really into the season. The players always seemed liked they were having so much fun.”
Another senior and fellow basketball supporter Joann Martinovic said, “I have friends on the team, and they told me all the time how dedicated they were. It was nice to see them care so much.”
Many students in the school recognize the talent they saw on the court.
The entire coaching staff paved the way for the squad. Their dedication to the sport inspired the girls to always strive for the best.
Coach Ron Muszynski has been honored to have had his second year of head coaching go so well.
“It was an incredible battle our team put up. Even though at points they were down, they were never out. No team or official could take the drive out of the girls. They always played their best and produced positive results. We expect to always play at this caliber and have even more success in years to come.”
The 2016-2017 season has come to an end. Life-long memories have been created for all those involved. The students, faculty, and communities all hope for the best and would like to wish good luck to all those graduating.
