Keystone Oaks is a four-year comprehensive high school located in suburban Mt. Lebanon, PA, approximately five miles from downtown Pittsburgh. KOHS first opened its doors in 1969 and has undergone a major renovation that included a complete overhaul of the school's technological capabilities including the addition of six new academic labs. Also, in 2005 Dormont Memorial Stadium - the school's football and soccer facility - underwent a major face-lift and is once again widely acknowledged to be among the finest athletic facilities in Western Pennsylvania.
Curriculum & Facilities:
Keystone Oaks offers a challenging and varied curriculum designed to meet the academic needs of students of all abilities. Our core curriculum offers Advanced Placement/Honors and College Preparatory courses. Students interested in jumpstarting their careers while still in high school can enroll in one of the many programs available at Parkway West Career and Technology Center. The District's recently renovated high school has collegiate level science, computer, language, industrial technology, and drafting/CADD labs. Additionally the school boasts a multi-media library that houses a collection of more than 23,000 books. There truly is something for everyone.
Special Academic Programs:
Keystone Oaks offers a variety of programs to meet the wide-ranging needs of our students. In addition to the standard curriculum KO offers learning, emotional, speech & language and life skills support. The school also offers gifted and English as a Second Language classes as well as a Student Assistance Team (SAP). Further, the school has a mental health therapist available through a unique partnership with Wesley Spectrum Institute.
Extracurricular Organizations at Keystone Oaks:
Approximately 65% of all KOHS students are involved in extracurricular activities. The school's intimate size affords students the opportunity to maximize their high school experience by participating in a myriad of clubs and activities. The district has an exemplary staff and curriculum development program to enhance instruction for all students.
More than 63% of Keystone Oaks' professional staff hold advanced degrees including doctoral degrees.
